Suits season 9 is happening, and creator Aaron Korsh details what fans may expect. He also clarified the rumors about Meghan Markle's return when she's preparing for the birth of her first child.

Korsh told Us Weekly that they would love to have Markle (as Rachel Zane) back on the show. However, any talk about her return to Suits season 9, or a potential appearance in its spinoff, Pearson, is not true.

"I can tell you that those things in the papers, I have no idea what they're talking about," the writer said. "We're so early in the season that we haven't formulated what we want to do, so we can't reach out to people before we know what we want to do."

The Duchess of Sussex is committed to her new and growing role as a royal with Prince Harry. When she quit the acting business last November 2017, she quickly moved on to work on the charities that the royal family supports. Palace insiders said that Markle wouldn't be slowing down with her work at these causes even after her first baby arrives.

But as for the upcoming Suits season 9, Korsh told TV Line last March that they have started writing the first episode. In the Suits season 8 finale, Harvey (played by Gabriel Macht) and Donna (played by Sarah Rafferty) finally hooked up after years of going back and forth their feelings for each other.

Korsh said that Harvey and Donna are going to learn how to handle this new relationship. The problem with these two characters is that they aren't good at communicating their feelings; hence, it took so long for them to finally be together.

Meanwhile, Patrick J. Adams (as Mike Ross) confirmed with Entertainment Tonight that they are working out a way to bring back his character in Suits season 9. He's eager to reprise his role or direct an episode, but the actor said it's up to the writers to figure this out and it's up to him to clear out his schedule.

Adams got the biggest break of his career by being cast as one of the leads on Suits in 2011Rafferty said it wouldn't feel right if his character doesn't get to be in the final season.

USA Network announced that Suits season 9 would be the show's last in January. The final run will have 10 episodes, but the premiere date has not yet been announced.
