Many fans are now thrilled about the upcoming Cobra Kai Season 2. The popular American comedy-drama web television series is based on Robert Mark Kamen's The Karate Kid movie franchise. Now, avid followers of the show are wondering what they could expect in the imminent second installment.
Reports have it that Cobra Kai Season 2 would pick up where the first season left off. This means that the sequel would continue tackling the story of The Karate Kid following the defeat of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) from Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). Daniel won the All-Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament. In the forthcoming sequel, the competition between the resurgent Cobra Kai karate school of Johnny and Miyagi-do dojo of Daniel would intensify.
Before Cobra Kai Season 2, devoted followers of the show learned that Johnny became a broke and alcoholic man after his downfall. He, then, reopened the Cobra Kai dojo to sustain and provide his daily needs. Luckily for him, despite his condition, he was able to attract new karate students, which include Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) who is courting Daniel's daughter Samantha (Mary Mouser).
After Daniel saw the potential of Cobra Kai, he worked so hard and used his resources to escape the return of the nightmare of his high school days. Johnny and Daniel encountered again during the All-Valley Karate Tournament where Johnny's protégé, Miguel, and his estranged son, Robbie (Tanner Buchanan), who is coached by Daniel, fought against each other. After their meeting, Daniel and Johnny are expected to restore their rivalry in the up-and-coming Cobra Kai Season 2.
Besides Daniel, Johnny is also expected to get reunited with John Kreese in Cobra Kai Season 2. In the finale episode of the first installment, fans saw the Vietnam War veteran returned to celebrate Cobra Kai's victory during the 50th Under-18 All-Valley Karate Championship. Kreese, then, invited Johnny for a meal at a local diner.
For starters, Kreese almost killed Johnny after the latter was defeated by Daniel in a 1984 fight. Despite this, Johnny would act like nothing happened between the two of them several years back. It remains to be seen if things would end on a good note between them in Cobra Kai Season 2.
Would Johnny, finally, defeat Daniel in the imminent second installment? Well, that is something avid followers of the show should watch out for. The sequel is expected to return on April 24 via YouTube Premium. Stay tuned to Business Times for more Cobra Kai Season 2 spoilers, predictions, news, and updates.
