Technicureans are a group of consumers who have a serious passion for food, cooking, and technology and industry experts indicated that this socially conscious, high-end consumer category could help direct the kitchen appliance industry towards further innovation and growth.

Smart kitchen technology is increasingly becoming popular among food consumers who also cook in their homes. A new report predicted that technicureans could establish the foundation of a new appliance trend this year that capitalizes on food tech and other food-related innovations.

The emerging food and appliance consumer demographics have already started taking the attention of kitchen appliance manufacturers. LG is among the international groups that have been providing technologically-advanced kitchen appliances for technicureans.

As more industries explore ways to interact with this particular food consumer group, industry experts recommended that segments in the global kitchen appliance industry should study buying behaviors of technicureans. This should help manufacturers know which products this rising group demands.

Experience centers have since emerged due to increased interest in tech-savvy technicureans who are driving growth in the general appliance sector. LG-backed Signature Kitchen Suite, unveiled a high-tech experience showroom for the new-generation consumer group earlier this year.

While Signature Kitchen Suite had to work extra hard to get LG to open the Napa, Northern California experience center, the company is expecting to see technicureans coming in throughout the year. "Nowhere else on earth do you have the convergence of technology, food, and wine. Anything else would have been settling," company general manager, Zach Elkin noted of the appliance showroom.

During the 2019 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in February, Innit showcased its smart kitchen platform that features specialized cooking guides, automated cooking systems, and customized nutrition planner. The platform will be integrated into Signature Kitchen Suite's products this year.

Industry analysts are expecting to see growth among brands selling smart kitchen appliances. Developments in this sector are said to be driven by more consumers joining the technicurean bandwagon. Global demand for tech-powered appliances is also expected to increase as analysts predicted that the smart appliances market will rapidly expand at $49.12 billion in 2024.

Technicureans have been urged to watch out for new product launches from some of the world's leading appliance providers such as LG, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Whirlpool, Samsung, Bosch,Frigidaire, and more.

Growth in the smart appliances sector, including kitchen appliances, will be largely impacted by increased tech awareness among consumers, especially those willing to invest money on innovative home tools.
