Fuller House season 5 is set to return on Netflix for a final run, but the streaming platform has yet to confirm the show's actual release date. And while the cast is currently filming the fifth and last season, Fuller House has been marred with legal woes behind the scenes.

Netflix announced in February that Fuller House season 5 would be the show's last offering. The streaming platform did not reveal why it was ending the series despite its popularity with the fans.

It's speculated, however, that the problems behind the scene on Fuller House have prompted Netflix bosses to end the show. In May 2018, Full House and Fuller House creator Jeff Franklin dropped out and left his duties following some sexual misconduct allegations.

Fuller House was still running its fourth season when the accusations were revealed. There were already rumors that the series will not be renewed because of Franklin's issues.

Franklin has recently filed a lawsuit against Bryan Behar, an executive producer on Fuller House in response to his sacking from the show. In it, Franklin alleged that Behar harbored a secret hatred for him that he fabricated stories and started plotting schemes to kick the showrunner off the series, as per Deadline. Behar also found ways to place Franklin in a bad light with Warner Brothers and Netflix.

Meanwhile, lead star Candace Cameron Bure (as DJ Tanner Fuller) said in an interview with E! News that she's still eager to play her character for as long as she lives. The actress grew up in this role, being part of the original series that aired in the late '80s to the early '90s/

"If the audience and the networks wanted it, I would do it forever. I love her. I love our Fuller House family, and we are a family off-screen. The more I get to be with them every day, whether it's working or just in everyday life friendship," Bure said.

Shortly after Netflix finally confirmed the renewal of Fuller House season 5, Lori Loughlin (as Aunt Becky) was embroiled in a college admissions scandal. According to The Hollywood Reporterthe show decided to drop the actress ahead of filming the fifth season. Her character has not been written into the scripts for the new season although Aunt Becky is only a semi-regular in the series.

Meanwhile, there are also speculations that Fuller House season 5 will be ready for streaming this coming fall. Amid all that's happening, the show is set to have a good ending that fans will love.
