Not too long ago, Selena Gomez finally speaks up about the issues that have been surrounding her. And in her first major interview for the year, she revealed the rawest things about herself on the first episode of Coach's new Dream It Real podcast.

During the interview, the former Disney childhood star shared things about authenticity, mental health, and therapy. And after a year of having a break from the media and all of its platforms, Selena Gomez is now back.

She started the interview by sharing her newfound self. The Wolves singer claimed that most people do not know her heart. She even went on to clarify that all of the things that she has been sharing in the course of her life is not "trained."

After debunking the controversies about being "PR-trained," Selena also talked about her physical appearance. She stated that she does not appreciate the people who judge her by her looks. Although it's kind of flattering for her to be referred to as "pretty," the star emphasized that she loves it more if people would love her for her. And this is much "more important," Gomez added.

Looking past the physical appearance, Selena Gomez went on to share about her mental health. She mentioned that being a Disney's child star did polish her to become what she is today. But having that kind of fame and attention has become a challenging thing for her. But even so, she expressed her appreciation and gratefulness to Disney Channel.

Alongside the apparent fame, Selena Gomez further extended her input on mental health and went on to state that too much social media is not healthy. She revealed that she went kind of depressed because of it. And being too much exposed is just simply unhealthy for her and everyone, especially for the younger generation.

For the Taki-Taki star, she thinks that spending too much time on social media causes too much anxiety. But while she claimed to grow up in a different environment, like having a dial-up internet, she charged everyone to be mindful of the things that one could see in social media.

On taking care of mental health, she revealed that she is "a believer of therapy." Although therapy is not an easy thing, this allowed her to get to know more of herself.

Now, Selena Gomez took a long hiatus in 2018. But she sure will be back this year as she already revealed that her new album would be released in the coming months. But as for the exact date, there is not much information yet. Even so, this new album will be all about her and her story.
