Ozark Season 2 concluded on August 2018. And fortunately for the fandom and production, the show has been renewed for a new season. This renewal update has been confirmed a month after by Ozark lead star, Jason Bateman, who happens to be the executive producer and one of the directors as well.
In a tweet that he posted last year, Jason Bateman revealed that he is happy for himself because Ozark Season 3 is officially happening. However, he further went on to state that he is concerned for Marty. And quite obviously because the next installment will certainly be much darker and more dangerous.
On the finale of Ozark Season 2, everyone has witnessed that Marty has finally launched his giant casino boat. And through this new venture, he will utilize it to launder more hundreds of millions of cash for the drug cartel. So, there is a huge possibility that Ozark Season 3 will return to focus on this plot. Hence, it is very much expected for the new season to take more of its setting on this particular boat as per Digital Spy.
Aside from the apparent money-laundering plot, there are also speculations that the upcoming season will also solve the murder of Cade Langmore. And being Marty as one of the possible suspects, things will be much more complicated for him. Not to mention, Ruth and Wyatt are also seen as possible suspects.
While things seem to get even darker for Ozark Season 3, the expectation of having real female empowerment has also become much apparent. With Wendy Byrde's paradigm shift over her new life of crime and Ruth Langmore's game of stepping up, it seemingly appears that these female characters will be the focal points of the plot for the next installment.
It is also worth noting that the main villains of the plot are now eliminated. Hence, Ozark Season 3 will surely welcome the new face of the antagonist. And there are theories that this might be Wendy.
With all of these speculations at hand, the fandom is getting a little more eager for the show's arrival. However, there are no confirmations yet as to when Ozark Season 3 will arrive on Netflix.
But looking at the premiere dates of the past seasons, there is a huge chance that the next installment will be premiered once the summer season ends this year. And it is likely that the latest premiere date will be scheduled in September. Nevertheless, it is certain that the show will return on Netflix before 2019 ends.
