Warning: Spoilers ahead for Cobra Kai Season 2. Read at your own risk.
The speculations on Cobra Kai Season 3 are now high after YouTube Prime dropped its 10-episode Season 2. There are theories another original Karate Kid will join the series, while fans wonder how John Kreese's (Martin Kove) reintroduction will affect the new season.
Kreese is Johnny's (William Zabka) former sensei and Cobra Kai dojo's founder. In the previous season's finale, he has taken control of the dojo by stealing it from his apprentice. So as Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) is fighting for his life in the hospital, and Kreese is teaching Cobra Kai's remaining students, it may be setting the stage for an emotional Cobra Kai Season 3.
In an interview, Kove told GameSpot Kreese made a move against his former student because he sacrificed what Cobra Kai's real meaning. "It means no mercy," he said. As he seemed to violate Cobra Kai's concept, he had to "sway the students."
Zabka, on the other hand, saw the rift between Kreese and Johnny as a "father-and-son dynamic." They both had different views. Although Kreese seemed not to agree with what Johnny is doing, it couldn't be denied he loves the kids and the dojo, so he would not easily give it up without giving a fight. Would the two face each other in Cobra Kai Season 3?
As Johnny is now booted from Cobra Kai, he might work together with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) to fight the evil. As things seemed to be out of hand, the war might ensue in Cobra Kai Season 3.
Aside from Kreese, the previous season's final image also teased the possible coming of another original Karate Kid cast member. Daniel and Johnny's former girlfriend Ali Mills Schwarber (Elisabeth Shue) might make her way in Cobra Kai Season 3.
Johnny accidentally sent Ali a Facebook message. With all the intense happenings in the previous season, from Miguel's accident to Kreese's coup, Johnny had a meltdown and threw his phone, but it went buzzing.
The show's co-creator Jon Hurwitz told Decider anyone from The Karate Kid universe could be in the YouTube Prime drama. As people behind the series never discussed if there would be a new addition, fans would only know if Shue would join Cobra Kai Season 3 "on screen."
A lot of publications already reported Shue's possible involvement in Cobra Kai Season 3. However, YouTube has yet to confirm if it would happen.
YouTube has yet to renew the series for another season, so there is no news yet if when Cobra Kai Season 3 will be out. So far, fans can binge watch Season 2 on the streaming service.
