After 19 days of denying his drug usage, Yoochun finally admitted all the drug allegations made against him. On April 29, the JYJ member confessed to using drugs and revealed that he started doing it after meeting his ex-fiancé, Hwang Hana, again.
As every K-pop fan knows it, Hwang Hana was Yoochun's fiancé. The two have parted their ways after calling off their marriage plans in 2018. But after the break-up, it seemingly appears that the former couple met again and this was when Yoochun started using drugs, according to his recent revelations.
Hwang Hana, on the other hand, has been accused of drug usage for several times now since 2014. And in light of recent events relating to the Burning Sun Scandal, the socialite-turned-celebrity revealed earlier this month that she had been using drugs with her ex-fiancé, Yoochun.
This revelation shocked the whole K-pop fandom, especially JYJ's Yoochun's fans. However, Yoochun firmly denied the allegations made by his Hwang Hana.
Even so, he was submitted to undergo a urine test which primarily produced a negative result. But when the second test was performed through the means of using his leg hair, Yoochun's drug tests came out positive.
The K-pop star requested to take another test following the positive results. He even claimed that he "does not know how he tested positive." And this has caused an uproar to the fans leading them to request that another test should be taken.
Although the fans are very much firm in supporting the K-pop star, Yoochun eventually revealed that he lied and finally admitted that the drug accusations are all true. He explained that he couldn't just simply "let go" of himself which is why he lied to the public. But then, he felt the need to accept the things that need to be accepted. Moreover, ask for forgiveness for the things that need apologies.
With this confession at hand, it has become a very saddening event for the whole K-pop fandom. And what made it more dramatic is because Yoochun's fans left him a "heartfelt" goodbye letter.
In it, the fans have shared their pain and sadness for losing Yoochun about his recent confession. The fans also stated that they "did not know" and they "believed" that they could "support him forever." But the truth is they cannot, and they should let him go as well.
But even so, they wished that he could now reflect on himself and ultimately let go of all the burden and weight that he is carrying.
Now, the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency plans to move forward the case to the prosecution according to Allkpop.
