The Blacklist is one of NBC's strongest scripted material up to date. With an increase of 119 percent in delayed viewership ratings, it is in no doubt as to why the series obtained its green light for a new season.
But while there are already talks of The Blacklist Season 7, there are no confirmations yet as to when it will arrive on NBC and Netflix. Even so, there are speculations that the new season will premiere in 2020.
It is also worth noting that The Blacklist still has its three episodes left before the current season concludes. So, there is a huge chance that newer details and updates about The Blacklist Season 7 will be revealed when the installment wraps up on May 17 of this year.
Also, the number of episodes for the upcoming season is not yet revealed. But looking at the previous seasons, all installments came with a total of 22 episodes including the current season, except for Season 3 that premiered with 23 episodes. And with this pattern at hand, it seemingly appears that The Blacklist Season 7 might house a total of 22 episodes as well.
For the cast of the new season, it has been revealed by Variety that all of the main roles will be reprised by their respective actors including, of course, the lead stars James Spader and Megan Boone.
As it happens, Megan Boone along with the other cast members, Diego Klatenhoff and Harry Lennix, signed a new deal with Sony Pictures. And this new deal has become the spark of The Blacklist Season 7. Right after the renewal of their contracts, the network, NBC, immediately announced the renewal of the show as revealed by Variety.
In terms of the plot, there is a scarcity of information as well in this aspect. Besides, the current season is still on its way to its twentieth episode. So, it is very likely that the plot of the upcoming season will pick up where The Blacklist Season 6 will leave.
But as of the current movements, it seems that Red will face struggles and challenges with Liz. And there are theories that Liz will move out of town since she learned that Red is not entirely the person she thought he was.
Also, the introduction of Liz's mother, Katarina Rostova, in the later episodes of the current season would probably play a huge part when the new season comes.
So far, these are the only details that have been shared about The Blacklist Season 7. While this new season is not yet arriving soon, The Blacklist Season 6 will continue to air its remaining episodes on its Friday schedule, on NBC.
