HBO dropped Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 set photos, teasing what is about to come after the Battle of Winterfell. The fight between the living and the dead evidently depleted Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) army, but it won't stop them for another war against Cersei (Lena Headey).
Aside from the impending "last war," photos from the Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 showed the aftermath of the "The Long Night." The casualties were laid on wood beds, preparing a massive cremation in front of Winterfell, per TV Line.
The fallen soldiers, including Ser Jorah (Iain Glen) and Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey), Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), Beric Donadarrion (Richard Dormer), and Dolorous Edd (Ben Crompton), will be honored by their own houses. In the snaps, Sansa (Sophie Turner) leads the Starks with Arya (Maisie Williams) and Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright). Davos (Liam Cunningham), The Hound (Rory McCann), and Gendry (Joe Dempsie) are also on their side.
Daenerys leads her house with Varys (Conleth Hill), Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson), and Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel). The torchbearers will light the fire, representing their people. Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) for the wildlings, Jon for the North, Greyworm for the Unsullied, Daenerys for Ser Jorah and the Dothraki, and Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) for the Night's Watch.
In other Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 photos, Daenerys looks happy with Drogon by her side. The Targaryen ships are also seen sailing, most likely to King's Landing. Cersei and Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) are overlooking something from the castle's window.
There is also a shot of Daenerys, Missandei, and Varys seem to be plotting their move to attack King's Landing in Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4. According to Vanity Fair, the next untitled episode will return to the show's original roots of telling the issues about politics, scheming, and betrayal.
Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish (Aidan Gillen), who is the king of deception and betrayal, is believed to be dead. But Varys the Spider is still alive, and he is with Daenerys. His ability to know things as the Master of Whisperers and a skilled manipulator who has a lot of informants can benefit their battle in King's Landing.
In the photo, there are little scrolls in front of Varys, lying on the map table that may be carrying the news from King's Landing. Hence, Daenerys may have an idea about what Cersei is doing all along. Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 will be out on Sunday, May 5, at 9 p.m. on HBO.
