There had been revolutions of technology in the past, where the latest is counted as the 'Fourth' Industrial Revolution. Inquirer pointed out that industries are on the verge of perfecting processes with technology, while product lifecycles are shortening, making companies be aggressive in transforming themselves and innovating their products.
The future is all about digital disruption and fast-paced tech innovations. Physical and digital worlds are on the verge of merging. These and more were the topic of discussions at the recent The Future Summit of the Urban Land Institute, hosted by JLL's PropTech director Jordan Kostelac, who opened the forum by sharing his thoughts on tech co-existence in the workplace between humans and current and future technology.
Jordan explained most of the realities happening in today's workplace and said that the digitization is happening in most processes and jobs. Advantages and positive attributes to organizations were also the topics as well, and how all of these can merge without posing any risk to the human factor or any similar workplace component.
This coincided with an April leadership change in JLL. PR Newswire reported that Neil Murray is being tapped to become Global CEO, Corporate Solutions. He will be replacing John Forrest, who is returning to Australia and will be leaving JLL. Murray will be located in Chicago upon assuming the office and will be reporting to CEO Christian Ulbrich. He will also be a member of the company's Global Executive Board as well.
Forrest had previously been connected to several senior leadership roles with the company before becoming Global CEO for Corporate Solutions and a Global Executive Board member. He initially started with JLL in Australia and had experiences in roles handling the Asian and American regions. He was known as a 'client-first' executive, as well as an entrepreneurial person.
Murray, meanwhile, joined in 2017 and had promoted strong growth in EMEA (in the Corporate Solutions area) as CEO. He was a vital cog in creating and focusing the Corporate Solutions business of JLL to contribute to the 'Beyond' strategy. Prior to this, Murray was the Chair of the UK & Ireland team ad CEO of Corporate Services at Sodexo.
JLL had been advocating the Future of Work in response to what it saw as a 'rapid change' happening in the workplace. It has been pushing for a sustainable work environment where human experience will continue to thrive. With that in mind, JLL is also looking to incorporate more digital solutions in the office set-up for the near and far future.
