A royal biographer has revealed that Meghan Markle received a reprimand from Queen Elizabeth during preparations for her wedding to Prince Harry. Katie Nichols relayed that the actress received a dressing down from the Queen over tasting eggs in the food that would be served at the wedding reception.
Nichols told The Royal Box that Meghan insisted on a macrobiotic diet for her wedding guests from Hollywood. However, during a food taste test, Meghan apparently insisted to the chefs that there were eggs in the ingredients.
This made Meghan, who would become the Duchess of Sussex, quite upset that her wedding wishes weren't being followed. The queen allegedly walked in during the confrontation with the chefs and took Meghan aside to scold her for her behavior.
'Meghan, in this family we don't speak to people like that,'" the Queen apparently told her grandson's future wife. Nichols spoke of the incident to indicate that she was in the same room when it happened.
This wasn't the first scolding of the Hollywood star from Queen Elizabeth though. Reports also came out that the former actress got upset over a tiara she wanted to wear for her wedding but the Queen refused and told off his grandson for his fiancée's behavior.
However, according to Elle, Prince Harry was angry over the reports that painted Meghan in a bad light. The stories that Meghan is a diva in the royal household doesn't sit well with the prince. Buckingham Palace is also not happy with the reports about Meghan.
"There is anger that these claims circulating are simply not true," a source said. "They are rightly incensed."
But it was also Nichols who shared in a previous interview with FOX News that the Queen likes her grandson's wife. Queen Elizabeth apparently sees how happy Prince Harry is with her and she has given the Sussex couple more responsibilities as a royal than what was expected.
Meghan has also been invited to royal events even before she married Prince Harry. For instance, she was already in the family photos during the Commonwealth Day service a few years ago, when she was still engaged to the prince.
"The Queen put Meghan on that world stage before she was even a member of the royal family," the royal biographer said. "I remember being really struck by that, surprised and impressed. The way Meghan has been fast-tracked into the royal family has been quite unique."
