Pilgrim (played by Babou Ceesay) has gone over the edge in Into the Badlands season 3. He's bound to do more damage and kill more people in the upcoming finale, which airs on Monday, May 6, but there's a silver lining to these events.

According to Screen Rant, Pilgrim's devastation and drive for domination have brought former enemies to work together to either beat their greatest enemy or survive this ordeal. While the big bad succeeded in wiping out all the barons in Into the Badlands season 3, the damage and loss he has caused in the seven kingdoms have reunited different factions.

If Pilgrim dies in the Into the Badlands season 3 finale, then the Badlands might have a better future given what they went through under his reign of terror. It's possible that when this show is over, the Badlands would exist as one nation.

But before this has to happen, Into the Badlands will deliver the biggest battle scene of the series. In a preview on TV Guide, Sunny (played by Daniel Wu), the Widow (played by Emily Beecham), Baije (played by Nick Frost) and Kannin (played by Eugenia Yuan) are going to throw the gauntlet down and try to beat Pilgrim. The latter, however, will still have an ally in M.K. (played by Aramis Knight) as they plan on bringing back Azra and changing Badland for good.

In Into the Badlands season 3 episode 16, Kannin reminded her brother Sunny that Azra's real legacy is genocide. So, if this is what Pilgrim hopes to achieve, then they have to do everything they can to stop him.

Meanwhile, viewers of Into the Badlands season 3 episode 16, which aired last Monday, April 29, might not have been prepared to see Pilgrim kill Nix (played by Ella-Rae Smith) by decapitating her head. This was necessary to show just how much Pilgrim has gone full evil by killing his surrogate daughter.

"He slowly descended into this darkness," executive producer and Into the Badlands co-creator Alfred Gough said as per Den of Geek. "To us it was like okay: there's no coming back from this now. That's one of the reasons we wanted to show that."

The Into the Badlands season 3 finale will air on AMC, which did not renew the show for season 4. Previous episodes are also available via Netflix.
