Meanwhile, showrunner Jason Rothenberg said in an interview with TV Line that The 100 season 6 barely touched the surface. The biggest mystery involving Clarke has not yet been unveiled and Rotherberg is quite excited for these episodes to air.
"Eliza Taylor has such an arc this season as an actress. Her performance is one of the best things I've ever been a part of," Rothenberg said. "We really set out to push her and give her things to do that she's never done before. People will be blown away by it."
The previous episodes of The 100 season 6 showed Clarke's bothersome hallucinations of her mother. Rothenberg cautioned that the real problem is still about to happen.
The showrunner is teasing a potential conflict between Clarke and Maddie (played by Imogen Tear) in the next few episodes of The 100 season 6. The latter will be struggling and fighting this darkness inside her while Clarke will be unsure about how to deal with Maddie.
Meanwhile, the secret of this new planet that Clarke's group has stumbled on was finally revealed in The 100 season 6 episode 2, which aired last Tuesday, May 7. Toxins come out to the surface when the sun is eclipsing. This causes people to develop hallucinations and turn paranoid or violent.
Everyone's reaction from the toxins is different and Rothenberg confirmed to TV Guide that this won't be consistent. Suffice to say, this will have a huge impact on Clarke's storyline.
