Many fans are thrilled about what would Lee Min Ho do next after the completion of his mandatory military service. The former boyfriend of Suzy Bae was discharged last week, and his avid followers are wondering if he would get to back to work immediately. However, new reports suggested that Min Ho's supporters would have to wait a little more before he officially returns to the small screens.
Rumors are rife that Lee Min Ho is very much likely to reunite with two of his previous on-screen leading ladies, namely: Park Shin Hye and Jun Ji Hyun. Speculations have it that the ex-boyfriend of Suzy Bae might do a sequel to the popular South Korean television series titled The Heirs and The Legend of the Blue Sea. It cannot be denied that these two shows have rocked the country and the other parts of the world from its premiere to the finale episode.
However, Lee Min Ho might not be doing The Heirs and The Legend of the Blue Sea 2 any time soon after it was confirmed that he would do a series titled The King: The Eternal Monarch. Reports have it the 31-year-old Asian superstar will take the male lead role in the said imminent show. No other details about its cast have been made public yet, but some fans are speculating that Park Shin Hye could also be a part of the project.
Should everything push through, this is going to be the reunion project of Lee Min Ho and Kim Eun Sook after they worked together in 2013 for the hit-drama series called Heirs. This, according to speculators, could also widen the possibility of casting Park Shin Hye to take the female lead.
However, it is important to note that these are just predictions. Thus, everything should be taken with a grain of salt. Previously, Park Shin Hye debunked the rumors claiming that she and Lee Min Ho would be doing The Heirs 2 despite the fact that fans have been demanding them to make it happen.
The King: The Eternal Monarch will focus on the story of a Korean emperor and a detective living in different worlds. Yoo Ha Rin, who is a representative of Hwa&Dam, revealed that filming would start in the later part of the year. "Nothing has been decided yet with regard to the broadcaster or any broadcasting details," he said about Lee Min Ho's upcoming new project. "But we have the director and the male lead and we will begin filming sometime in the second half of this year," he added.
Before kicking off his military service, Min Ho promised to his fans that he would do a "great project" once he gets discharged from the enlistment. The King: The Eternal Monarch is expected to premiere in 2020. Stay tuned to Business Times for the latest news and updates about Lee Min Ho.
