It will be crunch time for the team during the NCIS: New Orleans season 5 finale as the life of Pride (played by Scott Bakula) is on the line. The only way for the team to get him out of danger is to find the mole that has been feeding the intel to Apollyon.
According to the episode synopsis for the NCIS: New Orleans season 5 finale, Pride will be separated from his group while they are tracking down Apollyon. The team is on a mission in South Ossetia, where there is a raging war.
But who is the mole and will the team find this person right on time? Finding the mole will also be crucial to closing the case against the Apollyon which the team on NCIS: New Orleans has been hunting for months.
"What happens to Pride in the finale is almost beyond his control," Bakula hinted as per TV Insider. "Once that effort goes south in some aspects, he needs help from a lot of different voices in his head."
One of those voices will be Pride's mother who will be played by Joanna Cassidy. The actress is not much older than Bakula in real life hence fans are curious about how this will play out in the NCIS: New Orleans season 5 finale, which will air on CBS on Tuesday, May 14.
Bakula explained, however, that the show will use Cassidy in a "very unusual way" and viewers will be very pleased by what they did with this storyline. The actor also hinted that this might not be the first and last appearance for Pride's mother.
Meanwhile, the penultimate episode of NCIS: New Orleans season 5, which aired last May 7, showed how Walker (played by Tim Griffin) captured Pride. Before this happened, however, Pride arrived in South Ossetia to find Agent Isler (played by Derek Webster), who landed in the hands of kidnappers when the FBI failed to capture the leader of the Apollyon.
It was a tense situation for Pride and his team in NCIS: New Orleans season 5 since the militia wanted the FBI to pay $2 million in ransom money. Pride also had to carefully explain to his team what is going on because they needed to pose as doctors and use counterfeit money to pull out Isler.
Once the team did have Isler in custody, a pursuit was on. But as it turned out, the abduction of Isler has been a huge setup and a trap so that the militia could nab Pride, leading to this predicament in the NCIS: New Orleans season 5 finale.
