Many fans are wondering if Mindhunter Season 2 is still happening due to the limited details about it since the conclusion of the first installment. Fortunately, for fans, it seems like the future is already clear for the famous American crime drama web television series. South African-American actress Charlize Theron, who also sits as one of the series' executive producers, confirmed that the highly-anticipated sequel installment is coming very soon.

Business Times, previously, revealed that Mindhunter Season 2 is very much likely to become gorier and bloodier than the first installment as it would feature the infamous Atlanta Child Murders. As a matter of fact, executive producer David Flincher divulged to Billboard, in 2017, that Atlanta Child Murder is, indeed, a part of the plotline and fans should expect to hear more African-American music.

For starters, the Atlanta Children Murders were a series of assassinations that transpired between 1979 and 1981. The massive killings left a total of 28 African-American adults, teenagers and children murdered. Hence, devoted followers of the show should expect more gruesome, suspense and action-packed scenes in the forthcoming Mindhunter Season 2.

Besides the gorier and bloodier storyline, rumors have it that Mindhunter Season 2 may also have a series of time jump since the imminent installment would be covering a total of five years and squeeze it in eight episodes. "'Mindhunter' is going to have a five-year arc," retired FBI agent John E. Douglas, who is the author of the "Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" book that inspired the series, said to Vulture.

"At least five years is what they are planning. That's what David Fincher asked both the actors: 'Can you give me five years here?'...I know there are supposed to be eight episodes [in the second season]," John added when further asked about what fans could expect in the up-and-coming Mindhunter Season 2. "I know the cases. They are going to have David Berkowitz, as well as Charles Manson. The Atlanta child killings in the early '80s, they're gonna be covering that."

As for the cast, reports suggest that the original characters who appeared in the first installment will be back in Mindhunter Season 2. Hence, fans could expect Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, Cameron Britton, Hannah Gross, and Cotter Smith to return. Other stars who may make their comebacks in the second season, also, include Happy Anderson, Stacey Roca, Tyler James Larkin, Joe Tuttle, Alex Morf, Joseph Cross, Lena Olin, and Marc Kurdish among others.

Spoilers have it that the first episode of Mindhunter Season 2 would feature Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) interviewing serial killers Charles Manson (Damon Herriman) and David Berkowitz a.k.a. The Real Son of Sam.

Charlize Theron, recently, confirmed that the upcoming new installment would premiere in August 2019 on Netflix. Stay tuned to Business Times for the more Mindhunter Season 2 spoilers, theories, predictions, news, and updates!
