Update:Warrant Requests For Seungri And Yoo In Suk Dismissed
The infamous kpop singer Seungri is suspected of soliciting prostitutes on more than three occasions.
Korean news agency Channel A's 'News A' reported on May 13, police have found three separate instances of purchasing prostitution services at least three times, including a woman who worked at an adult entertainment establishment.
The police obtained a witness statement from the above-mentioned woman saying that Seungri received prostitution services in 2015 at places such as his home.
Seungri denied this accusation as he did in the past weeks, stating that he knew this woman who was not a prostitute. However, after looking into the accounts of staff at the adult entertainment establishment, the police found evidence of Seungri paying money to the staff.
An MBN 'News 8' report on May 9 said police have confirmed that Seungri facilitated prostitution services for Japanese investors and was directly involved in the sex trade.
According to the report, the charges in the arrest warrant requested by police include additional charges for purchases of sex services, not only for others but for Seungri himself, as well as sex trafficking, embezzlement of funds from club Burning Sun and violations of the Food Sanitation Act.
The police have filed for a detention warrant for the singer. The decision regarding the warrant is planned to be announced on the evening of May 14 or early morning of May 15.
