Following the death of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s director, Phil Coulson, the sixth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started with Mack's new role as the acting director. As they rebuild the whole team, it seems that things are starting to feel strange.
Although it has been already a year since Coulson's death, everyone is still trying to start all over again. The first episode of the new season showed the energy anomalies that have been very apparent recently. It has been revealed that these anomalies were formed by hostile strangers. And surprisingly, the person who leads them looks like Coulson.
To everyone's surprise, they thought that this person is really Coulson. But it turns out that he does not know the name Coulson and that his name is actually Sarge. Even so, he mentioned that the name Coulson rings a bell to his mind.
Of course, everyone who knew their former director has become very much intrigued by what they saw and learned. Accordingly, they started to theorize and speculate things about him, his identity, and the possibilities of a parallel universe.
They started to investigate things that had happened. Quite interestingly, many of the fans already know who Jaco, Pax, Snowflake, and Sarge are. But one thing is still boggling the minds of everyone including the characters on the plot. As it happened, Sarge's DNA matched Coulson's based on results.
Obviously, his real identity and backstory will be further unveiled as the plot progresses. But as of the moment, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to take things slow. Besides, there are a lot more stories and plots to tackle in the show.
Aside from these surprising turnout of events, the latest episode shifted its focus from Daisy and Simmons going to Fitz. And based on the recent encounters, it looks like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 is the installment for Fitz total redemption.
As for the upcoming installment, it is somehow revealed that the episode will take place largely on the planet of Kitson. And while Fitz's redemption has already been introduced to his arc, the next episode hints that the focus will stir away from him going to Daisy and Simmon's journey to the said planet.
There is not much story to tell yet about the whole plot of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 considering it's still on its earliest episodes. But while the upcoming episode does not really pose a huge revelation to the overall plot of the season, the details will probably be more apparent in the succeeding installments.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 Episode 3 is set to premiere on May 24, on ABC.
