The final episode of Jon Seda (as Antonio Dawson) on Chicago PD season 6 will air on Wednesday, May 22, at 10:00 p.m. on NBC. Fans have prepared for this inevitable and the show has come up with an action-packed and drama-filled send-off that should not be missed.
The teaser to Chicago PD season 6 shows a huge threat for Dawson as a case he worked on in the past has been re-opened to haunt him. Voight (as Jason Beghe) recognizes this threat and assures Dawson, however, that they will get through this problem together.
Voight is, of course, speaking about Kelton (played by John C. McGinley) who has ordered an investigation into the death of another cop that involved Dawson. The repercussions are too great, however, as it also threatens the future of the Intelligence, as per the episode synopsis.
There are speculations that Dawson might cut a deal to protect his colleagues and take the blame for this fiasco in Chicago PD season 6. Thus, his departure from the show might see the character going to prison.
However, it's also possible that Dawson could die in the finale of Chicago PD season 6. There was a scene in the teaser where Jay (played by Jesse Lee Soffer), Burgess (played by Marina Squerciati) and Atwater (played by LaRoyce Hawkins) seemed to be looking at what might be a dead body.
There's also the possibility that Kelton would not be elected into power and does not become the mayor. But with all that has happened to Dawson, he might still decide to leave Chicago and start anew somewhere else.
However Chicago PD season 6 ends, it's still going to be a sad day for the fans. But then Seda has other plans for his career. Thus, leaving the show could be a good thing for him in the long run.
"It's been an honor portraying Det. Antonio Dawson in the #OneChicago world," Seda said in his statement on social media to announce his exit from Chicago PD season 6. "To my cast #Family, I'll always treasure the time and stories we shared. To all you #chihards out there, THANK YOU for being the best of fans! We'll Always have CHICAGO."
