Another character crossover on Fear the Walking Dead season 5 will happen in the premiere episode airing on Sunday, June 5, at 9:00 p.m. on AMC. Austin Amelio will reprise Dwight, his character on The Walking Dead, in this spinoff series and his addition will reunite him with Morgan (played by Lennie James).

Will it be a welcome reunion for both characters? Dwight and Morgan had that connection in the mother series, which has made the producers quite eager to see how this will play out in Fear the Walking Dead season 5.

"He is someone who did a lot of bad things over his time as a Savior. He hurt a lot of people, he did a lot of things he regrets," showrunner Ian Goldberg said of Dwight in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "He was given a second chance by Daryl at the end of [The Walking Dead] season 8 when Daryl spared his life and sent him away to find Sherry."

Viewers of Fear the Walking Dead season 5 will find out what Dwight has been up to since his disappearance. Entertainment Weekly gave fans a glimpse with a photo of Dwight in his new costume.

The showrunners of Fear the Walking Dead season 5 also said that the upcoming installment would be featuring characters "grappling with things they've done in the past." Thus, it seemed only fitting that Dwight has been added to the spinoff.

Meanwhile, the showrunners also teased the first encounter between Morgan and Dwight in a video featurette. Not much, however, is revealed but Morgan was surprised to find an old familiar face.

Fear the Walking Dead season 5 will also find the group saving more people from this apocalyptic existence as guided by Morgan. However, this idealistic goal will not be an easy one since they will find out how much harder it will be to trust people when everyone is on survival mode.

Morgan will also be faced with a lot of questions about their future in this forsaken world. The landscape will also change in Fear the Walking Dead season 5 as there will be some weird and unusual roadblocks up ahead.

Fear the Walking Dead season 5 will run for eight episodes this summer. The show also stars Alycia Debnam-Carey, Maggie Grace, Danay Garcia, Garret Dillahunt, Jenna Elfman, and Karen David.
