The Teen Mom 2 season reunion started with a bang this year when Jenelle Evans stormed off the stage. The former MTV star showed up to film on Monday, just weeks after the network cut ties with her, and couldn’t hang when the reunion host, Nessa Diab, confronted her.
Dr. Drew’s co-host confronted Jenelle over racist posts she had shared on social media. She attempted to engage the 27-year-old reality star over Facebook posts that were critical of boyfriend, Colin Kaepernick, and his collaboration with Nike during the reunion.
During the first part of three MTV reunion specials, Evans explained that her heated fight with Amber Portwood had been because of the Teen Mom OG star's assertions that husband David Eason was abusive.
It was at that point that Nessa turned things on Evans, saying she had done the same thing to her boyfriend, activist and pro football player Colin Kaepernick, who began a movement to protest police brutality and oppression by taking the knee during NFL games' National Anthem.
Nessa said, “I think that’s really interesting because you did exactly that to me.” When Jenelle looked confused, Nessa explained, “You posted hateful comments on social media about my family, about my man, Colin Kaepernick.”
However, Jenelle still acted cluelessly and said, “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” so Nessa offered to “pull up the messages.” And when producers did, Jenelle said, “I’ve never seen that,” even though one of the messages was printed on her official Facebook page.
The post that Nessa was talking about was the one that Jenelle said she wouldn’t buy Nike because the company works with Kaepernick. "Let's choose the most disrespected guy in the NFL for our promos.’ ‘Let's add a slogan about sacrificing, everyone will love it.’ ‘Let's choose the man that kneels at our flag.’ YOU’RE WRONG,” stated Evans’ post, which was written nine months ago. “I will not be buying Nike anymore. Chris Kyle’s wife wrote a huge letter about how she feels, and I couldn’t agree more. HER husband actually DID sacrifice A LOT. Nike should change their “motto” immediately. Nike needs a new PR person pronto.”
Upon being confronted with her actions on social media in light of Kaepernick's peaceful protest, Evans broke down immediately, storming off stage and ripping her microphone off. "I would have been more than happy to have a healthy conversation," Nessa told Evans as she got up to leave.
Part Two of the Teen Mom 2 reunion airs next week, but unfortunately, we won’t get to see her grilled over the situation with Nugget, as MTV hasn’t filmed anything with Jenelle since April.
