After 25 years, fans are about to see the return of Jean-Luc Picard to the small screen. CBS All Access unveiled the first official trailer for Star Trek: Picard, featuring Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as the Starfleet officer.

The 74-second trailer started giving fans a glimpse of a vineyard. While the sun is brightly shining, a man can be seen walking through the rows of trellises, inspecting the leaf of a young vine.

A box of '86 vintage Chateau Picard Bourgogne is then revealed, placing it outside a rustic farmhouse when a voice started to speak. "Fifteen years ago, today, you led us out of the darkness. You commanded the greatest rescue armada in history. Then, the unimaginable," it said.

"What did that cost you? Your faith? Your faith in us? Your faith in yourself? Tell us, why did you leave Starfleet, Admiral?" it asked. The next scene showed Stewart, returning as Captain Picard.

According to Space, the vineyard may be a reference to the Picard vineyard in La Barre, seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation. The estate has been seen twice in the 1987 classic TV series"; first in Season 4 Episode 22, "Family," and second in Season 7 Episode 25, "All Good Things."

The rescue armada mentioned in Star Trek: Picard trailer might be about the Romulan homeworld before Supernova of 2387 destroyed it. As early as now, there are now questions surrounding Picard's return, like when was he promoted to Admiral and why did he leave Starfleet.

The trailer showed Picard is not in the same place where he used to be during Star Trek: The Next Generation. So in Star Trek: Picard, he assumedly left Starfleet to live a simple life as a winemaker, per CarterMatt.

After over 30 years since Star Trek: The Next Generation started, Picard is now older. Hence, it may be the reason behind his departure from the Starfleet. He may want to take things slowly, and he may be not the same person fans used to see in the classic TV series.

However, Picard remains to be one of the most iconic television characters that people love. He is known for being sympathetic, passionate, and someone who always cares, teaches, and who has high hopes for the universe's future.

It is not yet revealed what other Star Trek connections Star Trek: Picard has, but fans hope it would give a nod to other storylines of the franchise. Also, viewers want to see some other Star Trek: The Next Generation star to appear on the new spinoff series.

CBS remains mum about Star Trek: Picard, but major details about the show may be out at the coming San Diego Comic Con in July. The show is expected to be out anytime this year.
