BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and former After School member Lee Joo Yeon, who were previously rumored to be dating, are swept up in dating rumors once again. This is their fourth time getting caught up in dating rumors.
As dating rumors started to arise yet again, their respective agencies responded to the rumors. However, it might not be the response that their fans wanted to hear.
G-Dragon and Lee Joo Yeon were first rumored to be dating back in November 2017, when the photos of the two enjoying a trip in Hawaii raised suspicions among fans. A post was made on an online community with the title, “G-Dragon and Lee Joo Yeon,” comparing several photos from social media accounts belonging to Lee Joo Yeon, G-Dragon, and his close acquaintance.
After comparing Lee Joo Yeon, G-Dragon, and his acquaintance’s social media posts, many noticed that their photos were seemingly taken at the same location, implying that the BIGBANG leader and actress had gone on a trip together.
G-Dragon and Lee Joo Yeon’s agencies both denied the rumors at the time and stated they were accompanied by their acquaintances on their vacations to Hawaii. This was the first, yet not the last dating rumor that the pair encountered.
In 2018, a local media outlet reported that G-Dragon and Lee Joo Yeon had been secretly dating for over a year, claiming that the two stars went on a four-day trip to Jeju Island together. This was never confirmed by both camps, and the dating rumors eventually died down.
However, Lee Joo Yeon’s recent post brought up the speculations again. The actress shared a video of herself with G-Dragon and deleted it shortly after. Many netizens believed she meant to upload it to her secret, private account but accidentally uploaded it to her public account.
Now, fans are demanding to know the truth about G-Dragon and Lee Joo Yeon’s relationship, and their agencies were left with no choice but to respond. Lee Joo Yeon’s agency first announced that they were “confirming the situation after being notified of the video.”
Mystic Story later announced that they couldn’t confirm anything as it is Lee Joo Yeon’s private life. “As it is a matter regarding the actress’s private life, it’s difficult to confirm anything. We ask for your understanding,” the agency said.
YG Entertainment continued to remain silent about the dating rumors until they finally answered that they “have no official statement” about it.
