Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 4 will prove Angela (Emily Deschanel) is an important part of the show. Although she will come up to the Cody boys, she is up to something that involves Pope (Shawn Hatosy).
"The Cody boys are thrown by Smurf's (Ellen Barkin) increasingly unnerving behavior as she shows up in unexpected places. J (Finn Cole) realizes he needs to set his own plans in motion if he wants to lead the family," Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 4 official synopsis read. "Deran (Jake Weary) gets disturbing news from an old friend, and Pope (Shawn Hatosy) struggles to resist the advances of Angela."
Angela is not the only one who has plans in Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 4. It will be a clash between the members of the family as what Smurf wants will oppose what J and others want to do. As long as Smurf continuously sniffs around, it only proves that J needs to be his own person, per CarterMatt.
The tension that surrounds J and Smurf teases there will be a war between the two. Angela may also have something to do about it. Adrian (Spencer Treat Clark) may also turn up some of the Codys.
Meanwhile, talking about her role in Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 4, Deschanel revealed she got out of her comfort zone to do it. "I was so used to being in a cocoon, in this protected space for 12 years," Deschanel told TV Guide. "This pushes me into a place that's not so comfortable."
Deschanel plays the role of a recovering addict that is newly released from prison. She has a long history with the Cody family being the best friend of Julia, Pope's late twin sister. Angela's arrival puts the family into uncomfortable places, and as she gets her way back to the Codys, she has to get through Smurf.
Deschanel revealed Smurf and Angela are at odds. Smurf sees Angela as another woman who is trying to enter their home. As she is a recovering addict who is a former friend of her daughter, they often blame each other for Julia's death.
Angela grows up with the Codys, so she has a lot of history with them - especially Pope. So, it will be the most interesting part of her arrival. Angela and Pope are about to get in touch with their dark sides. They have an indescribable connection that she will try to use to get in the family.
She also has affection with J, Julia's son. Although she helped raised him, she is hoping he will help her in some way. Animal Kingdom Season 4 Episode 4 will be out later this month on TNT.
