The Game of Thrones Prequel is now underway as some of its cast members have been spotted in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After Miranda Richardson teased what is about to come to the new series, other stars hinted their arrival to the city, where the original show has been filmed all along.
Jamie Campbell Bower, who has been seen on Camelot, Twilight, and Sweeney Todd, is seen enjoying his time in Belfast. "Off on a new adventure," he tweeted a week before he comes to the set.
The fan site Winter is Coming also reported the stage actor Alex Sharp is also in Belfast. He is spotted checking out the famous Giant's Causeway near the Ballintoy Harbour that worked as the Iron Island's set.
Marquis Rodriguez is also sharing some photos in Belfast on her Instagram stories. She, along with Sharp, visited Northern Ireland's Peace Maze as they enjoy their time in Belfast together for the Game of Thrones Prequel's production.
Aside from Bower, Sharp, and Rodriguez, the new spinoff series will also star Naomi Watts, Richardson, Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Shiela Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, George Henley, and Toby Regbo. However, HBO has yet to announce what roles they are going to play.
Earlier, Richardson teased the Game of Thrones Prequel would be "totally different" from what fans used to see on the original series. "I have loved the storytelling in that series and the wish and the will is to continue that," she told Digital Spy. "[But] with a totally different set of elements [and] people."
However, Richardson promised the upcoming series would bear the same production value that Game of Thrones had displayed from the very start. The craftsmen would be the same as it has the similar base team who phenomenally worked throughout. With that, Harry Potter admitted she is "thrilled" to be a part of the show.
Wiki of Thrones noted the Game of Thrones Prequel would explore the timeline that occurred thousands of years before George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, on which the original HBO series is based, took place. It would tell the original story of the Long Night, which was the title of Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 that featured the dark battle of Winterfell.
The "different set of elements" that Richardson uttered might be implying to the origin of the White Walkers and the Night King himself. The show might finally reveal what does these creatures' spiral symbol means.
However, fans should be reminded HBO only ordered for a Game of Thrones Prequel pilot and not yet a full series. The network still needs to see if it will meet its standard before it becomes a full-blown television show.
