Korean motor brand Hyundai and sister company Kia are seeking to gain more international popularity with the rise of Kpop acts in the world. The companies have tapped Big Hit Entertainment's BTS and YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK to promote their brands to a wider reach.

According to a report by News Article Insiders, Hyundai Motor originally tapped BTS to be the face of their campaign for its flagship SUV Palisade and is now seeking to do the same for Kia Motor with the help of BLACKPINK.

"BlackPink is one of the most dynamic, stylish and popular music acts in the world today, and this partnership gives Kia a unique platform to engage with a young, trendy audience in several of our most important growth and volume markets," Kia Motors Chief Marketing Officer Cho Yong Won explained about choosing BLACKPINK as their latest brand ambassadors.

He also cited that the Kpop girl group is also considered one of Korea's leading exports, which reflects the position of their brand in the global market.

It can be recalled that BTS and BLACKPINK both made their mark in the international scene when BTS became the first Korean artists to be nominated for the Billboard Music Awards in 2017. BTS' subsequent victory drew more attention to their music and their style, which has captivated fans both locally and internationally.

Apart from ruling the Billboard charts consistently since they entered the rankings, BTS also performed at the Grammys and also earned a nod for the Best Recording Package Category from the prestigious music award last year, a huge honor for the Korean music industry.

The seven-member group has also collaborated with major international artists like Halsey, Steve Aoki, The Chainsmokers and more, validating their talent to stand at par with the best artists in the world.

BLACKPINK, the four-member powerhouse group made up of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose, followed suit and sustained the fresh Hallyu wave across the globe, performing to sold-out stages in different parts of the world and breaking viewing records for their MVs on youtube.

They now hold the record of having four MVs hitting the 300 million views mark. They also enjoy a solid position on the Billboard World Chart for their Kill This Love EP.

The Kpop girl group recently concluded the successful North American and European leg of their Your Area Tour and is set to take on Asia and Australia later in the month.
