There's no drama like the drama of monarchs, and it looks like The Spanish Princess Season 1 Episode 6 is set for a major sibling rivalry. Catherine of Aragorn needs to reach out to her sister Joanna of Castile so Catherine can achieve her heart's desire. However, it looks like the Queen of Castile isn't going to be easily swayed by her sister's plea. Will Joanna torment Catherine in 'A Polite Kidnapping'?
In the fifth episode 'Heart Versus Duty,' Catherine realizes that Harry is ready to fight for her if she decides not to marry the king. Although she is afraid that her decision could be dangerous, Catherine tells the king she cannot marry him. She reasons that the alliance with Spain will be weakened when Harry becomes king if she is the dowager queen consort instead of queen consort. Interestingly, Henry agrees that Catherine can marry Harry, but there is still a hefty price.
The king declares that Catherine will only be allowed to marry his son after the Pope grants a dispensation. In addition to that, Spain must pay the remainder of Catherine's dowry. Interestingly, the teaser for The Spanish Princess Season 1 Episode 6 reveals that Catherine's father is not ready to give England what is required. Nevertheless, Catherine has a back-up plan, and it involves her sister Joanna of Castile.
In the promo for 'A Polite Kidnapping,' Catherine claims that Joanna could pay the rest of her dowry. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like her sister agrees with her. Joanna tells Catherine that she is "soiled and have no rank," further adding that Spain does not "need you." Nevertheless, Catherine isn't giving up, telling Joanna that England could be a useful ally for Spain in the fight against the French. "We will both be queen," she insists.
Meanwhile, there is also trouble between the king and Harry, who is told Catherine's rank has dropped to a low for her to become a suitable queen. At one point, Henry threatens Harry by telling him he will find a new successor. The Spanish Princess Season 1 Episode 6 is all about the higher stakes for Harry and Catherine.
Fans of the series are also in for some good news. The Spanish Princess has just been renewed for a second season. The new season will consist of eight more episodes that will close out Catherine's story.
The Spanish Princess Season 1 Episode 6 will air on Starz on June 9.
