The Fast and the Furious franchise is about to add up fun to its storyline with the addition of Ryan Reynolds. The Dead Pool star is said to join the movie series' new installment, Hobbs & Shaw, to feature his funny antics.

We Got This Covered revealed a trusted source said Reynolds would join Hobbs & Shaw, a new movie presentation from The Fast and the Furious franchise. He will play the role of a CIA agent who has a history with Hobbs (Jason Statham).

Hobbs recruits Shaw (Dwayne Johnson) to help him stop Brixton's (Idris Elba) evil plans against humanity. "Lawman Luke Hobbs and outcast Deckard Shaw form an unlikely alliance when a cyber-genetically enhanced villain threatens the future of humanity," Hobbs & Shaw official synopsis read, per IMDb.

With the addition of Reynolds, viewers can expect Hobbs & Shaw to be hilarious. He may have an exchange of funny banters with Statham and Elba to add some comedic relief to the action film.

Statham, Johnson, Elba will surely take The Fast and the Furious franchise to a whole new level with the addition of Reynolds. There are also recent reports that Keanu Reeves will make his way to the film to pull strings behind the evil villain Brixton. The John Wick 3 star may show up in Hobbs & Shaw post-credit scene.

Reynolds and Reeves' coming to The Fast and the Furious franchise makes Hobbs & Shaw have a stellar cast. Johnson said its solid casting would help to make the movie a big hit with the addition of he and Statham's "biting chemistry."

"We started talking about the potential of a spin-off really after Fast Five," he revealed, via Lad Bible. "I'm really happy that we were not only able to crack the creative and really lean into the relationship and chemistry - the biting chemistry between myself and Jason Statham - but I think that also you find out that it's something the fans have been wanting for some time now."

However, Johnson cleared it would not be the end of The Fast and the Furious franchise. The plan would always be about to expand and grow the movie series' universe. In fact, they are now preparing for the production of Fast Nine.

Johnson's cousin and also a former WWE star Roman Reigns will join Hobbs & Shaw. He is set to play the role of Hobbs' younger brother. The new installment to The Fast and the Furious franchise will be out on August 2 in cinemas.
