After a long wait, ABC finally ordered for How to Get Away with Murder Season 6. Fans waited for over three months for the renewal, but now the network confirmed Annalise (Viola Davis) and the rest of the cast would return for another season.

How to Get Away with Murder is one of the three Shondaland series that will return with a new season. The other two are Grey's Anatomy and the spinoff series Station 19, according to Deadline.

"Everyone at Shondaland is thrilled that our fans' commitment to TGIT continues," Shonda Rhimes and producing partner Betsy Beers said in a joint statement. "We are so proud of Krista [Vernoff] and Pete [Nowalk] and the work they do."

The previous season ended with a major cliffhanger. It was revealed Xavier (Gerardo Celasco) and Governor Birkhead (Laura Innes) were working together to get back at Annalise by killing Nate Sr. (Glynn Turman). Laurel (Karla Souza) and Christopher went missing, while Emmett (Timothy Hutton) was on the edge of life and death.

So in How to Get Away with Murder Season 6, these things will be all at play and will be a huge part of its storyline. From the looks of it, Bonnie (Liza Weil) and Nate (Billy Brown) killed a wrong guy, and Miller (John Hensley) is innocent. He even tried to stop Xavier's plan.

But when Annalise and Frank (Charlie Weber) learned what really happened, they decided to hide the truth. Frank even bribed the police to tell Bonnie that Miller was the one who ordered the hit. However, with the show's theme, their secret might be revealed in the new season.

According to Hypable, How to Get Away with Murder Season 6 would deal with Michaela's (Aja Naomi King) birth parents after they learned her dad knew Annalise and Gabriel's (Rome Flynn) past. Also, although Telesco (Melinda Page Hamilton) was fired, she would still continue to do her investigation.

However, fans should take these assumptions with a grain of salt as ABC has yet to announce what will really happen. But based on the previous season's finale, these things may be probably at play.

ABC has yet to announce when How to Get Away with Murder Season 6 will be out, but based on its previous schedule, it may be set for release in September. The entire TGIT lineup, which includes Grey's Anatomy and Station 19 may also return to its regular timeslots. Hence, the new season of Annalise's story may be once again seen every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET.
