When Power Season 5 ended, it wrapped up with a huge and surprising cliffhanger. One of the lead characters' fate is still unknown. This is why a lot of fans are very happy to learn that the series is set to return for a new season this year.

However, the upcoming sixth season will already be the final installment for the show. So, all of the loose ends will surely be tied and wrapped up completely.

There is not much of a difference in terms of the plot of the show. But the production will have a few changes as its former executive producer, Gary Lennon, is now named as one of the showrunners of Power Season 6. And in an interview with Deadline, the show's main showrunner and creator, Courtney Kemp, revealed that she's very excited to work with Gary as the final season's co-showrunner.

But aside from the changes in the production, she also revealed several things about the new season of the crime drama series. As it happens, the premiere of the sixth season is set five days earlier than its television arrival. And during the event, 50 Cent is revealed to perform as the premiere will be held at the Madison Square Garden.

Accordingly, the premiere of Power Season 6 is open for public viewing. But one would need to RSVP for the said event that will start to accommodate on July 9. There are no specific details yet about the public event, but things will surely be reported before opening the RSVPs.

As for the plot of the new season, the first episode will pick up where it last left off. If you would recall, the previous season has shown that Kanan was killed off during an encounter with the cops. In addition to Kanan, the last few episodes of Season 5 also showed how terrified, and surprised Ghost was when Angela was shot by Tommy.

Quite obviously, Kanan is already written off. But the case is different for Angela. As per Courtney Kemp's revelations, she shared in an interview with TVLine that Angela will still be in Season 6.

Even so, she largely emphasized that no one will be safe on the course of the final season. So, things will certainly be more entertaining and intense.

Power Season 6 is set to arrive on August 25, on Starz. As for the premiere event, it will be on August 20, which will be held at the Madison Square Garden.
