Loyalties will be tested as the Cody family, and their associates tackle a puzzling new job in Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 3. Set to air on Tuesday, June 11, at 9:00 p.m. on TNT, the group will try to pull off a different kind of art heist.
In the preview for Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 3, Frankie (played by Dichen Lachman) is shown explaining the heist to Deran (played by Jake Weary) and Craig (played by Ben Robson). The group also finds a solution to make the heist less complicated, and Frankie brings it up to Craig that she mainly planned this art heist job without the help of the Cody family.
The dynamics between Frankie and Craig will become more obvious in Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 3. He is aware that he's being used, but he doesn't mind this for now for as long as someone sees his value. And not one to scheme or lay out the plans, this set up seems fine for Craig when someone like Frankie becomes the brains behind the heist.
The episode synopsis for Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 3, however, hints that Craig will feel some of the pressure about this heist job. It's a complicated process, but could he bail on Frankie, or will this push him to abandon his family because the job still poses fewer risks?
Elsewhere in Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 3, there is growing friction between J (played by Finn Cole) and Mia (played by Sohvi Rodriguez). The teaser shows J berating Mia for not showing up and following his orders. In the previous episode, J was already frustrated with Mia for putting her foster brother to work at the bowling alley without his knowledge. Is this alliance becoming fractured?
Meanwhile, Daran (played by Jake Wary) tries to wean Pope (played by Shawn Hatosy) outside with a job. There have been concerns in the family that Pope is losing a grip after so many shocking events in his life in Animal Kingdom. This would be Deran's way of taking control of his brother. The only problem, however, is if Pope would be willing to get some help.
As for Smurf (played by Ellen Barkin), the search for the truth remains elusive. The teaser for the upcoming episode also shows her at risk of being in the hospital for taking more drugs than she could handle from Craig. Will her situation, however, convince the brothers to return home in Animal Kingdom season 4?
