BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo and 2PM‘s Nichkhun have been confirmed to make an appearance on Arthdal Chronicles! On June 10, a source from Arthdal Chronicles revealed that Jisoo would be making an appearance in the show.
Although not much is known about Jisoo’s role, it has been confirmed that she will appear in the middle and ending of the drama. “Jisoo will appear in Arthdal Chronicles. We can’t reveal what her role will be and ask that you learn about her role through the drama,” an Arthdal Chronicles source said.
Jisoo had briefly dabbled in acting with an appearance in the 2015 Korean drama The Producers before she had even made her debut as a member of BLACKPINK. Earlier this year, a majority of the BLACKPINK members named Jisoo the member most likely to win an Oscar during their Billboard magazine cover shoot.
Meanwhile, Nichkhun has been honing his acting skills in various shows for almost a decade now including work on shows in Japan and China. The 2PM star's most recent TV project was Thong Eak Mor Ya Tah Chaloang, while his last film was Brother Of The Year.
While Nichkhun had previously appeared in both Japanese and Chinese dramas, Arthdal Chronicles will be his first Korean drama role. Just like Jisoo, not much is known about Nichkhun’s role, but it is said that he joined the cast at a party to commemorate the end of filming.
“It is true that Nichkhun will be appearing in Arthdal Chronicles,” JYP Entertainment revealed. “Currently we are unable to reveal information about his role, and we ask for your understanding on this.”
The 2PM star also reportedly joined the cast of Arthdal Chronicles at a party to commemorate the end of filming. Both Jisoo and Nichkhun have reportedly filmed their parts for the show and will appear mid-season, though no specific dates or further details were shared.
Arthdal Chronicles, which premiered at the top of this month on Korean television station tvN, and internationally on Netflix, is a fantasy drama based around those living in an ancient city named Arthdal who work through both society and romantic struggles. It tells the story of Arthdal and its people.
The main cast includes top Korean actors like Jang Dong-gun, Kim Jiwon, and Song Joong Ki. As if the series needed more boost, the appearances of Jisoo and Nichkhun would add even more hype and skyrocket the ratings.
