A familiar character is coming back from the dead in Queen of the South season 4. Brenda (played by Justina Machado) will be resurrected in the mind of Teresa (played by Alice Braga) in the upcoming episode for airing on Thursday, June 13.

Brenda's return will feature a flashback scene on Queen of the South season 4 episode 2. In it, Brenda will be happily celebrating her baby shower presented by her best friend, Teresa.

The clip from Queen of the South season 4 episode 2 shows Brenda sitting among her friends as they play a baby shower game. The mom-to-be is supposed to guess the baby food in the jars before her while she is blindfolded.

But Brenda expresses her dislike for the vegan baby food, so she takes a shot of tequila to wash it down. She also reveals to her best friend that she's likely carrying a son with husband Chino (played by Jean Paul San Pedro).

But in reality, Brenda did have a son named Tony (played by Adolfo Alvarez). However, the boy was left to care of Teresa as Brenda and Chino have been murdered in Queen of the South season 1.

In truth, Machado had to leave the show because she was starring in her series on Netflix. Since One Day at a Time has been canceled on the streaming platform, the actress has more time to take other projects these days, such as this guest appearance on Queen of the South.

"We were so excited Justina was game to come back to Queen of the South," executive producer Dailyn Rodriguez told Entertainment Weekly. "She's such a talented actress and such a joy on the set."

It's unclear how many scenes Machado will have on Queen of the South season 4 episode 2 or if she's also returning for more episodes. It's possible, however, for the character to be back in multiple instances given what Rodriguez said of Brenda's personification.

"The character of Brenda brings so much levity to the show, and her relationship with Teresa is a special one," Rodriguez said. "We can't wait for the audience to watch her scenes this season."

Meanwhile, Queen of the South season 4 will find Teresa expanding her business to New Orleans and further in the East Coast. Rodriguez confirmed with Soap Hub that Teresa would also legitimize her operation by setting up a bar in this new city.
