Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays as Mitchell Pritchett, talked about the final season and said it would be "very bittersweet." "We are extremely sad it's coming to an end," he told HollywoodLife.
However, Ferguson teased there would be a lot of exciting things happening around about the possible opportunities that would be coming to their ways. The 43-year-old star is just so thankful that they have been given a chance to do the final season to enjoy their last moments together.
Their last table read, among others, will help them to build up the final moments for them and fans. The show's cast and crew have been working for over a decade since it started in 2009.
"We truly are a family," Ferguson said. So, they will genuinely find it hard not to see everyone every day, and it will be "a new adjustment" for them.
ABC announced in February that Modern Family Season 11 would be the show's swan song. However, the network assured fans there would be a lot of things to look forward to throughout the finale.
ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke even praised co-creators Steve Levitan and Christoper Lloyd for creating "one of the most seminal and iconic comedies in television history." She said in Modern Family Season 11 that fans are about to see more milestone events that people who have seen the series since the beginning would never want to miss, per Heavy.
Express reported the showrunners initially planned to end the show after Season 10. However, they decided to do another season to end a few storylines and tie the loose ends officially.
It remains to be unclear why does the show come to a close in Modern Family Season 11, as the showrunners keep the reasons behind the cancellation for themselves. But Burke revealed she would love to see a spinoff series, although nothing is officially confirmed yet.
So, will there be a possible Modern Family spinoff? Fans will have to wait and see for the network's announcement if anyone from the family will continue their story. Modern Family Season 11 will be out during the 2019-2020 fall schedule of ABC.
