According to the episode synopsis for Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 14, Alba (played by Ivonne Coll) and Rogelio (played by Jaime Camil) will grow worried over Xo. While she has bravely faced her cancer battle at the beginning of the season, another challenge will apparently shake her core. Is her cancer back, and worse, will this spell death for the character?
Jane the Virgin season 5 showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman did reveal to TV Guide that there will be a "significant death" this season. After all, this is a telenovela and deaths are part and parcel of what makes the drama.
However, Navedo said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that Xo's cancer storyline effectively concluded in Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 9, which aired in May. So, what could be this new twist for Xo be in the upcoming episode?
In Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 13, viewers learned that Xo has been texting the nurse at her cancer doctor's clinic. Apparently, she has been interested in going to nursing school and she's talking to the nurse for help and tips.
Now, she's having a hard time going after what she wants after learning that nursing school is actually tough. The reading of the medical terms alone will be torturous yet if Jane can beat cancer, she definitely has the will to succeed in this challenge, too.
This latest bad news in Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 14 will likely be just another bump in the road. Viewers, however, will have to find out what's really going on with Xo when the episode airs on Wednesday, June 26, at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
Meanwhile, the show is nearing its final episodes with only five more weeks to go. Urman teased that the season finale will reveal another pregnancy. Despite a crazy roller-coaster ride, it looks like Jane (played by Gina Rodriquez) and Rafael (played by Justin Baldoni) are going to live happily ever after.
Before that happens, however, the show will still need to give closure to the Sin Rostro storyline. Will this be the biggest death of the series?
