VIPS have been counting down the days until they see G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung together again. But before all the BIGBANG boys will be seen as a group again, they all need to complete their mandatory military service first.
Being the eldest of the group and the first one to enlist, it only makes sense that T.O.P will be the first one to be discharged. Although updates revealed that his return is sooner than expected, nobody thought that it would be this soon.
The new reduction regulations that was implemented in 2018 led to the shortened time of T.O.P's military service. So instead of being discharged in August, he's returning a month earlier.
"Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P's real name) will be discharged from his mandatory service on July 8,” the rep stated. “Due to the government's mandatory service law which went into effect last year for public service workers as well, his mandatory service date has been shortened by approximately 27 days."
But that is not the only update revealed about T.O.P's discharcge. A Facebook fan page shared a screenshot of the post from Yongsan District, revealing more details regarding T.O.P’s discharge. The post read: “According to the regulations, the official discharge date of T.O.P is July 8 (Monday), but due to the rest day of the Yongsan Crafts Musem, July 6 (Saturday) is his last working date as a public service worker.”
The district also noted that “T.O.P will not hold other event ceremonies to avoid troubles around the craft hall. But in order to express gratitude to the fans who have been waiting for a long time, they will give simple greetings to fans after completing work. It is good news for fans who are looking forward to the discharge of T.O.P.”
Now that T.O.P will be discharged soon, some fans are hoping to see him return to the entertainment world as soon as possible. However, there are some who wants him to take a break from the spotlight first, especially with all the scandals that YG Entertainment is facing at the moment.
As for his fellow BIGBANG members, they are also going to complete their enlistment before the year ends. G-Dragon is going to return in October, both Taeyang and Daesung are set to be discharged in November.
As for former BIGBANG member Seungri, he still needs to update the public about the postponement of his enlistment. The 28-year-old singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, entrepreneur, DJ, and creative director is currently facing his own controversies.
