Blood & Treasure follows an antiquities expert (Danny) and an art thief (Lexi) who have decided to work together to foil a ruthless terrorist, Karim Farouk (played by Oded Fehr), who makes money off stolen treasures for his attacks. Karim also kidnaps Danny's mentor in detecting artifacts, Dr. Anna Castillo (played by Alicia Coppola), which is why this case landed in his crosshair.

As Danny and Lexi go after Karim, they also encounter shady characters in every episode, who either lead them closer or away from the terrorist. Along the way, they meet Gwen, the agent from Interpol, who agrees to protect them as Danny and Lexi's mission brings them across international waters.

Blood & Treasure has been likened to Indiana Jones, The Da Vinci Code and National Treasure but Danny seeks the help of a known art thief because of her connections to the criminal world that could link them to the terrorist. The main storyline of this series refers to Cleopatra, as Danny and Lexi uncover a secret from more than 2,000 years ago.
