Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorce rumors had been making rounds online since the start of the year. The Descendants of the Sun stars were said to be ending their marriage after fans noticed that two South Korean superstars did not wear their wedding rings in two separate occasions. While some news outlets continue to spread the news about the possible divorce, avid followers of Joong Ki and Hye Kyo remained positive that no split would ever happen.

However, last week, Song Joong Ki announced that he already filed for divorce after a year and eight months of marriage with Song Hye Kyo. Initially, the Descendants of the Sun actor did not reveal that main reason behind the shocking split. But, the talent agency of the Full House actress cited "personality differences" as the primary reason behind the divorce.

In May 2019, Song Joong Ki talked about Song Hye Kyo during a press call for the Arthdal Chronicles. The 33-year-old South Korean actor revealed, during the said event, that his wife had been very supportive of him on his new project. This, according to reports, had debunked the claims that Joong Ki and Hye Kyo's marriage was hitting rock bottom at the time. Even the respective talent agencies of the Song-Song couple had denied the divorce reports and claimed that everything is fine between them.

This is the reason why avid followers of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were surprised after the actor announced his plans to divorce. Several other rumors about the split came out shortly after it was made public, including one accusing the couple of lying about the real status of their marriage. However, an unnamed source close to the situation expressed his disappointment about the malicious reports that spread like wildfire.

"There are some unbelievably nonsensical rumors going around on some online communities," the unidentified tipster stated. "Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo met on the set of 'Descendants of the Sun' and got married because they truly fell in love. After their marriage, they grew apart because of their extremely busy schedules as well as their differences in personalities, and that's why it's come to this," the same informant furthered.

Other reports suggested that Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo had moved out of their honeymoon home several months before the divorce announcement. Most fans can recall that Joong Ki purchashed the multi-million luxury home in Intaewon a few months before they tied the knot in Shilla Hotel, Seoul City, South Korea.

"We put out our trash on the streets in this neighborhood, but I haven't seen trash put out from Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo's house in a long time," an unnamed source living near the couple's home, reportedly, claimed. Neither of the couple has commented on these reports up to this writing. Stay tuned to Business Times for the latest news and updates about Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo divorce!
