Boruto Mangga is already ahead of the anime series. In fact, the Manga is about to introduce the next chapter of the plot on July 21. But even so, the anime series remains at its normal course which is apparently headed at Chapter 11 starting from Episode 114.
By and large, Episode 114 introduces a new arc in the storyline. And this will focus on the much-anticipated GEMAKI card game called Geki: Shinobi Emaki or Extreme: Shinobi Picture Scrolls.
It is hinted previously that the new episode will feature the card game as it has become "super popular" among the clique of Boruto. However, an apparent conflict will occur in the course as the next card will need one shinobi to become the face of the collectibles.
As Boruto and his friends eagerly collect and play the cards, they all realized that there are a lot more "unrecognized" individuals who must be turned into cards. And as it happens, they know a few of these people.
Boruto has his own bet and according to him, his former teacher, Aburame Shino, must be the one to be put into the next card. But Metal Lee believes otherwise. As per Metal, he believes that his father, Rock Lee, must take the place.
The discrepancy of perception between Boruto and Metal Lee has become the spark of an apparent dispute. And in order to settle the score, Omnitos stated that they will have a "proxy war" to determine who will ultimately be placed in the next card.
Of course, the Manga has already revealed the winner of the battle between Boruto and Metal Lee. But since the anime series is just about to introduce and premiere the card game, it is best for avid viewers to wait for the results in the next episodes of Boruto.
It is also worth noting that an official trailer teaser for Boruto Episode 114 has been already released following the imminent end of the previous arc. And based on Econo Time's perception, the trailer also showed how Sarada is quite uninterested about the GEMAKI cards. It appears that he sees them as mere "regular" and ordinary cards.
In addition, it also hints that Boruto will campaign for Shino to further convince that he should be the one to be placed into the next card.
Boruto Episode 114 titled, A GEMAKI Proxy War, will premiere on July 7.
