The apparent rags to riches story of the popular English football club, Sunderland A.F.C. (SAFC), has become the focal point of Sunderland ‘Til I Die on Netflix. As it happens, the sports documentary series articulates the events that happened to the club after the surprising and saddening relegation of the team from the 2017-2018 Season of the EFL Championship.

According to Fullwell 73, the production company and served as the “homage” to the Sunderland A.F.C., the series premise would be a journey for the viewers as they document the ups and downs of the club during and after the relegation.

With its eight-episode pilot season, Sunderland ‘Til I Die has no direct narrative. This is why a lot of sports lovers, especially the football fans, are loving the show as it houses the authentic nature of the game solely, key players, and events.

There are also no narrators in the course. The club’s players like Nick Barnes, George Honeyman, Lee Camo, Gary Bennett, and Martin Bain are most of the time shown on and off the field. So, it pretty much tackles the real emotions and characters of the players.

The pilot season also featured the actual challenges of Sunderland A.F.C.’s new manager, Simon Grayson. Along with the club’s players, they are all struggling to keep the club from “shutting down” as per The Cinemaholic. Having no enough financial support from the administration as well as seeing the growing frustration of the fans, everyone in the club is having a real hard time.

At the end of the pilot season, things are not looking good for the club. But even so, they have remained hopeful of getting back on track. This is why Fullwell 73 continued to tape the recent events and happenings within the Sunderland A.F.C. as per High Press Soccer.

Accordingly, many have theorized that Sunderland ‘Til I Die Season 2 will happen just after a few months of the last episode. But it is only recently that the production confirmed that the show is commissioned for a new season on Netflix.

It is revealed that the show will return on the streaming giant this 2019. However, there are no confirmations yet as to when it will arrive. The same thing is also true for its storyline for the next season.

Nevertheless, the fans and the production hints that Sunderland ‘Til I Die Season 2 will finally feature the most-awaited happy ending for the popular club.
