It may take a little while before fans see the return of their favorite reality series, Songland. The show is on a hiatus, and it may take several weeks before Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, and Will.i.am return to the small screen to help and hone aspiring songwriters' talent. But on its comeback, it be seen on a new schedule due to the change that happened on NBC.
According to CarterMatt, NBC had been busy preparing to introduce its new comedy series, Bring the Funny, after America's Got Talent. The open mic already started on Tuesday, July 9, which is said to be similar to Last Comic Standing. Songland, on the other hand, is being likened to another songwriting series, Platinum Hit, which aired on Bravo in 2011.
Songland Episode 11 is expected to come out next time with a new schedule. The show now has an earlier timeslot to give a chance to viewers who need to go to bed early to watch the show.
The series will be now seen every Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. It will stay behind America's Got Talent, but it will air after the results show.
Although the songwriting competition series is not displaying high ratings, NBC shows its faith in it. It still has decent numbers, enough for the network to renew the show for another season, even though that remains to be seen. The move to Wednesday nights and early timeslot may help the show to acquire more viewers that may bring in higher ratings.
So what Songland Episode 11 has in store when it airs next month? When the show returns, fans will still see Macklemore, Charlie Puth, Old Dominion, Leona Lewis, and OneRepublic, whose frontman Ryan Tedder is one of the show's producers.
So when things come to an end, there is a strong possibility Tedder will bring on one of the songwriters to work a song or two for his band. With 10 episodes deep, Songland has proved itself to be a viable show for artists.
Will.I.Am's song, "Be Nice," has performed well ever since it debuted on the series. Able Heart's "Green Light" is also doing well when he gives it to the Jonas Brothers.
The show and its aspiring writers can produce great songs and new hits. Their success can even lead to the show's renewal for a second season. So, fans have to wait and see what will happen from here when Songland Episode 11 hits the small screens next month.
