T.O.P dealt with a shocking controversy back in 2017 when it was revealed that he smoked marijuana with his then-girlfriend and former YG trainee Han Seo Hee. The BIGBANG star was serving at the military at the time when news broke.

As a result, the 31-year-old rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor took a dangerous amount of anxiety pills, clearly proved that the stress and embarrassment were too much for him to handle. Despite that, T.O.P admitted to his mistake and had shown genuine remorse from the time his marijuana scandal was revealed up to the time he was discharged from his compulsory duty last weekend.

While many people criticized him for his mistake, other fans even turned their backs on him, a lot of VIPs remained loyal to the BIGBANG star and said multiple times that they had forgiven him. The question now is — has T.O.P forgiven himself?

As of this writing, it seems that the YG Entertainment artist is still having a hard time moving on from his mistake. He is very remorseful for what he had done, which is very clear in his first Instagram post after discharge.

“Even though I am not proud of myself, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the fans who made time and efforts to share this moment with me,” T.O.P wrote. “I will make sure to reflect on my self and repay the hurts and disappointments I caused to you.”

But the BIGBANG star ended his post in a positive note, writing, “Again, thank you. Until I see you again.. love, T.O.P.” This seemingly proved that he is not going to disappear forever. Some celebrities who came back from the military slowly faded from the limelight and fans were worried that T.O.P would do the same as well.

While there is no solid evidence if T.O.P has forgiven himself or not, it is safe to say that he is going to be fine. He witnessed how much his fans love him, and he had always been very grateful for those who chose to stay with him despite the marijuana controversy.

T.O.P made history when he didn’t appear in front of the establishment where he completed his mandatory military service because he chose to spend and celebrate his discharge with the fans. He didn’t see the point of giving the reporters what they wanted by standing outside of Yongsan Craft Museum and answer their burning questions.

T.O.P would rather skip the negativity and be with the people who love and support him. This is enough proof that the BIGBANG star sees a bright future ahead of him, knowing that his fans are still there for him.
