Their avid fans insisted that they are together already at the time. But, the pair denied the allegations many times over.

Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo made a shocking wedding announcement in July 2017. No details about their marriage ceremony were revealed, but the two asked their fans for support in the new chapters of their lives. Some selected friends and relatives were invited in the wedding. Even the media were not allowed to cover since Joong Ki and Hye Kyo wanted it to be as private as possible.

On July 26 2019, Song Joong Ki, through his lawyer, revealed his decision to file for a divorce from Song Hye Kyo. The Arthdal Chronicles actor did not reveal the main reason behind his decision and asked fans to understand him instead. However, the Encounter star's agency claimed that "personality differences" took a toll on the Song-Song couple's marriage.

Now, some fans of Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were not happy to see them smiling on their recent photos amid the divorce drama. "If Song Joong Ki never filed for the divorce... I wonder if she would've continued living as a couple for show..?" one fan commented.
