Kate Middleton had always been a huge fan of tennis, not only as a viewer but as a player as well. It is no secret that the Duchess of Cambridge is a very athletic person and had always been active her whole life.

With that said, Kate and Prince William attended the Wimbledon men's final where Roger Federer was aiming to win his ninth Wimbledon against Novak Djokovic who has a five Wimbledon trophy under his belt. As it turns out, the Duchess of Cambridge is not the only member of the Middleton family, who is a tennis fan.

Kate’s mom Carole Middleton, younger sister Pippa, brother James and his girlfriend Alizee Thevenet were in attendance to witness the competitive match. It appears that Kate Middleton and Prince William turned the Wimbledon men's final into a family affair.

With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s busy schedule, it’s nice to see them take a time out from their hectic duties to spend time with Kate’s family. Although she may not publicly root for a particular competitor, it is safe to say that the Middletons are on Federer’s side since the family is good friends with the 37-year-old Swiss professional tennis player and his wife, Mirka.

While Kate Middleton and Prince William are not taking any sides in the Wimbledon men's final, the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly shared that Roger Federer is Prince George’s favorite tennis player. The five-year-old even played tennis with the professional sports star and commented that the young Prince has a "good" technique.

The exciting match ended with Djokovic winning the Wimbledon men's final with 7 points to 3 after the 12-12 fifth set tiebreak. Kate Middleton then presented the trophy to the 32-year-old Serbian professional tennis player. This is the first for the Duchess of Cambridge to give the award, and the sixth for Djokovic to win it.

Ahead of the match, Kate Middleton and Prince William met members of the All-England Club, which is an organization that runs the championships and the Duchess of Cambridge is a patron of. They met with several senior figures before heading into the royal box.

Meanwhile, the event also answered previous questions if Prince William is close to Kate Middleton’s family. While there are a lot of proofs that the Duchess of Cambridge gets along with the Royal family, many were wondering if the Duke of Cambridge is close to his in-laws as well since there is not much public interaction between him and Michael, Carole, James, and Pippa Middleton.

However, Pippa already shared before that despite Kate Middleton and Prince William’s obligations; they are still very close with them. “We’re very close, and we support each other and get each other’s opinions,” she said.
