BTS is a seven-member group, and it’s understandable for new fans to be confused, which is which. For those who are slowly slipping into the fandom, they would eventually learn their names and identify their faces.
However, the hardest part of all is to tell who’s the oldest, the youngest, and in between. Since RM is the leader of the group, many assumed that he is the oldest member of BTS. Wrong. It’s Jin.
As of this writing, Jin is 26 years old (December 4, 1992), Suga is 26 as well (March 9, 1993), J-Hope is 25 (February 18, 1994), RM is 24 (September 12, 1994), Jimin is 23 (October 13, 1995), V is also 23 (December 30, 1995), and the golden maknae is 21 (September 21, 1997).
Now that you know how old each of the members is, the next thing is to know how to tell apart the older members from the younger ones. The Hyung Line is consist of four members, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, and RM. The Dongsaeng Line only has three members, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Here are three times you can determine the older men from the younger boys.
1. Talk vs. Do
Jin, Suga, J-hope, and RM usually talk a lot. They discuss things vocally - sometimes a little too much.
Meanwhile, Jimin, V, and Jungkook let the older boys do all the talking, while they remain quiet and prefer to do things instead. They believe that actions speak louder than words.

2. Energy level
The Hyung Line are usually mellow, calm, and more composed. However, it is worth noting that they have some silly moments as well.
As for the Dongsaeng Line, they are constantly hyper and active. They are full of energy that they don't stop dancing, playing, running, and more on and off the stage. (Check out the short clip here).
3. Maturity
The older boys always make sure that the younger ones are okay. They check on them and make them feel better when they’re upset. (Check out the short clip here).
In return, Jimin, V, and Jungkook make sure that Jin, Suga, J-Hope, and RM are always happy. Their adorable ways are more than enough to cheer their hyungs up. (Check out the short clip here).
