Avid followers of the 32-year-old South Korean superstar are well aware that he had been part of various successful television and movie projects. As a matter of fact, the former boyfriend of Suzy Bae is considered as a top Hallyu star of his generation.
This Asian superstar rose to fame in 2009 when he landed as one of the main cast of the Boys Over Flowers series. Lee Min Ho portrayed the role of Gu Jun Pyo, who is a member of a popular all-boy group in their school. Due to his exemplary performance in portraying the said role, Min Ho was able to win the Best New Actor award during the 45th Baeksang Awards.
His remarkable performance in the Boys Over Flowers show, also, opened a lot of doors for him. As a matter of fact, Lee Min Ho also led the cast of other popular series such as Legend of the Blue Sea (2016), City Hunter (2011), and The Heirs (2013). With his achievements at a very early age, it comes a no surprise that Lee Min Ho was appointed to be the brand ambassador for the King Sejong Institute under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST). The Faith actor received the letter of appointment during a ceremony on July 9 at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul City, South Korea. Culture Minister Park Yang Woo, himself, presented the appointment.
"I am honored to be the public relations ambassador for the King Sejong Institute," Lee Min Ho stated during the event. Aside from appearing in the contents of the institute, Min Ho is expected to promote the Korean language and culture all around the globe. "We appointed Lee Min Ho, who is well-known at home and abroad, as a brand ambassador in line with the growing popularity of the Korean Wave. We hope that more people will get to know King Sejong Institute through actor Lee Min Ho," the culture ministry said in a statement.
The agency of Lee Min Ho also released a statement regarding his most recent milestone in his career. MYM Entertainment said that Min Ho decided to grace the foundation's event because of his devotion in helping the society.
Meanwhile, Min Ho is said to celebrate his 13th anniversary in the show business this year. Reports have it that, as a special treat to his fans, the former lover of Suzy Bae would do a brand-new project called The King: The Eternal Monarch, which is expected to premiere next year. Besides Min Ho, other personalities confirmed to be a part of the upcoming project include Kim Go Eun, Woo Do Hwan, and Jung Eun Chae.
