Mating season isn't going right in Siren season 2 episode 14. So Ryn (played by Eline Powell) has to make some adjustments to fulfill her obligation.
According to the episode synopsis for Siren season 2 episode 14, Ryn has to procreate on land and bring her new mate ashore. While she's doing this to save the mermaid colony, Ben (played by Alex Roe) and Maddie (played by Fola Evans-Akingbola) are emotionally affected by Ryn's decisions.
They don't know who this new mate is and it's causing some conflicted feelings, especially for Ben. In the teaser for Siren season 2 episode 14, Ben is manifesting signs of rage and jealousy but will he be able to get this under control?
It's a tricky situation for Ryn, Ben, and Maddie as the threat of mermaid extinction looms. As revealed in Siren season 2 episode 13, reproduction is not something that mermaids do for pleasure or feelings. It is a vital process that will help keep the mermaid species alive. Can they set aside their deep feelings for each other to prevent a catastrophe from happening?
Meanwhile, Siren season 2 is almost finished with its run. The show is expected to air its season finale on July 26. But actor Hannah Levien (as Janine) revealed that there are crucial moments in the season finale which fans should not miss. Specifically, there's a major twist coming up for her character.
Levein also shared her experience working in a show that's unlike any other. Siren is a mermaid thriller that might seem to be a fantasy, but it also brings to light many pressing issues plaguing the world today.
"I've always had a pretty wild imagination, so imagining that fantastical creatures exist isn't that much of a stretch for me," the actress told MEAWW. She also talked that crucial intimate scene she had to do in one of the previous episodes this season that becomes a defining moment for her character.
"It was new territory for her as a character, and it took a bit of working out on set with the episode writer Zoe Green and Director Amanda Row," the actress said. "But that was really rewarding - and great to have a female team working out Janine's story!"
