BIGBANG broke the K-pop curse when they survived the five-year mark in the industry. Previous groups disbanded after being together for five years, but G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri were still actively working in the entertainment world as a group, duo, and solo artists for over ten years until they enlisted in the military.
With that said, many believed that BIGBANG is invincible. Fans can see the boys being together for more years to come after they completed their mandatory military services.
Being the oldest member of the group, T.O.P was the first one to enlist back in 2017. Followed by G-dragon, then Taeyang, and Daesung in 2018. Since Seungri was still promoting his solo tour last year, he decided to finish everything first before enlisting.
Fans patiently waited for the discharge of the older boys, and the announcement of Seungri’s enlistment date. VIPs promised to wait for BIGBANG’s return as a five-member group once all of them completed their compulsory duties. In the meantime, they also promised to support each one of them if they decided to come back as a solo artist while waiting for the other members to finish their service.
Unfortunately, it seems that it’s not going to happen anymore. Seungri was involved in a shocking controversy that led him to not only postpone his enlistment but to retire from the K-pop world as well.
That being said, the 28-year-old singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, entrepreneur, DJ, and creative director left BIGBANG, making it a four-member group. The question now is, will VIPs accept this change?

A lot of fans are still hoping for G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri to be together again. While that is far from happening at the moment, who knows what will happen in the future?
But as mentioned earlier, VIPs promised to support each member no matter what. So if ever BIGBANG will return as a four-member group, fans will fully welcome that.
The “Kings of K-pop” will all be discharged before the year ends, so let’s just wait and see as to what they have in store for the VIPs.
