The Walking Dead Season 9 ended with a message coming through the Hilltop’s radio from an unknown person asking “Hello? Hello? Calling out live on the open air. Is anybody out there?” These words started a lot of whispers and speculations regarding what’s going to happen in The Walking Dead Season 10.
WARNING: The Walking Dead Season 10 spoilers ahead.
The Commonwealth is one of the largest communities in The Walking Dead franchise. If the writers of the series continue to follow the comic book line, then it is going to play a very important role in The Walking Dead Season 10 and the seasons to follow.
While there is no solid confirmation that the Commonwealth is going to be a huge part of The Walking Dead Season 10, showrunner Angela Kang hinted that it would be something that is going to play out over time. “This will definitely be a part of the season,” she said. “It’s part of the fun mystery of the season, and it will come into play in hopefully interesting ways that turn the story. I can’t tip too much about, but I think there’s some fun to be had there.”
For those who have read the comics, it was revealed that Eugene (Josh McDermitt) was the first one who made contact with an outside community (The Commonwealth). The Walking Dead Season 10 photo seemingly hinted that the story might be heading towards that direction as well. Angela said that “Eugene will definitely be playing a role in the story. He's certainly the one that has been helping set up these ham radios throughout all the communities."

Meanwhile, it was heavily talked about that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) left the Hilltop to join the Commonwealth. If this theory that had been going on for quite a while turns up to be true, then Maggie might return in The Walking Dead Season 10.
Lauren Cohan herself previously said that her character wouldn’t be killed off in the series, so will she be back in The Walking Dead Season 10? This question will soon be answered.
The Walking Dead Season 10 premieres on Sunday, October 6, 2019, on AMC.
